Two Stories That Tell It All
There’s a very easy method of determining whether a media outlet is sympathetic to the anti-war Left, as Nick Danger points out in this excellent piece at Red State (hat tip to our good friend Leon H). Just look at the relative coverage given to Cindy Sheehan and Able Danger. The lefthand side of the blogsophere, and most of the MSM, are all in a tizzy over this unfortunate woman who’s staging a circus in Crawford (and don’t think for a minute I don’t grieve for her loss – that’s not the point). Meanwhile, a few MSM outlets, but far too few, and the righthand side of the blogosphere are focusing on the revelations of the Atta/Able Danger/9/11 Commision story, a story with tremendous national security implications.
This isn’t about whether to bash Bush or bash Clinton. As Nick says:
…[T]his is all part of something much bigger than 9/11. The Clinton Administration did not set out to create an intelligence failure on a terrorist attack. That was an unfortunate side effect, one they most certainly did not see coming.
No one in their right mind thinks anyone in the Clinton administration even remotely envisioned a 9/11…but no one in their right mind could possible want to face another one. This very important story has to be seen through to the end.

Sometimes I wonder if the liberal MSM won’t open up about this issue because they want to be able to blame Bush for 9/11. If something on Clinton’s watch contributed to 9/11, well then they won’t be able to blame it all on Bush. That’s no fun for them.
