I’m A Guy With A Swollen Head
More Kos shennanigans (that wacky Markos!): in a post entitled ‘I’m a guy with a blog‘, Markos keeps it real:
This site became popular because of my style, because of my voice, because of my refusal to compromise what I believe in order to appease anyone (Daily Kos was already one of the top blogs before the move to Scoop). And I won’t stop doing it. As I’ve said many times before to wails of outrage — you don’t like it, it’s a huge blogosphere. Nothing is forcing anyone to read this site. Or, alternatively, disagree with me. I don’t get offended when people say things I disagree with. I push back.
I will not be the be-all end-all of the progressive blogosphere. I’m not interested. If someone pisses me off or annoys me, I’ll say so. And if I hurt some feelings, so be it. I’m not going to pussy-foot my way around the various progressive constituencies for fear of offending. Feel free to disagree with me, but don’t try to muzzle me. No one censors me. See, that’s one of the perks of being a guy with a blog.
You can keep trying and build me up into something bigger and more important. It’s a wasted effort, but it’s a free country. Me, I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing for the past three years.
All the classic Kos characteristics are on display: the arrogance, the vindictiveness, the posturing, the selfishness, the ‘playing the martyr’ tendency…
Some people say we should ignore the Kos…not me. I say we give him the attention he so badly craves and needs…and watch him self-destruct…

For a second, I thought he was channeling Chavez.
Do you think he owns a red beret?
Not only owns, but cherishes…
Do you think he owns a red beret?
probably a vest with c4.
Actually, he reminds me of John Stewart. He’s free to issue all the clarion calls he wants (e.g., cable TV screamfests are hurting America), but when someone dares to question him about his role, hey, he’s just a comedian on a channel with puppet shows.
I’m curious how Kos squares dramatic calls to arms with his “Hey, I’m just a guy with a blog” persona. I’m guessing somewhere deep inside, he recognizes that if he super-secret plan doesn’t work as planned, he might be setting up eight more years of Republican rule. He seems to be doing his part to make failure an orphan before it’s born by disclaiming paternity. “Why, if this all fails, it was your fault for listening to me! What do I know?”
Dennis, I hadn’t thought of the Jon Stewart analogy…but now that you mention it, it’s incredibly apropos…
