Perhaps we could make a running book on this and the Hanson-Huffington debate?
Oh, yeah, that one’ll be a beauty, too…
I’m looking forward to the Huffington/Hanson debate, but this Galloway/Hitchens match-up promises a Thunderdome level of rancor. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started breaking chairs over each other’s heads within the first fifteen minutes.
In our neck of the woods, we have two words for the selection of the liberal contestants: intellectual bankruptcy.
Geez, at least they could’ve given the Liberals a fighting chance with someone other than Huffy. Maybe they actually think she’s a self – made person; you know, the common – man thing and all that?
Wonder if Hitch will bring up Galloway’s impending nasty divorce – from a Muslim woman, no less.
I’m definitely rooting for Hanson, but Huffington may not be the bucket of chum in the water that everyone seems to think. She was on the debate team at Oxford–either team captain or one of its star performers, I’m not certain which. Anyone who thinks that intellectual wattage automatically confers superior debating skills needs to look back over the last few decades of debates among the presidential candidates.
Yeah, but then there’s that voice…it’s like fingers scraping the blackboard!…
Actually, Mark, that’s what scares me. If Arianna was chalking up wins at Oxford, nobody could accuse her of coasting to victory on her charm…
I have complete confidence in Hanson–not only because he is so obviously overarmed for this particular contest, but also because he is also a seasoned debater and a decorated teacher, which means (from personal experience) that he used to fielding off the wall questions. Huffington didn’t exactly set the world on fire with her debating skills in the CA gov race last year–that was supposed to be her big moment because of her “experience,” and, well, look what happened there.
…but it did, indirectly, open the way to the Huffington Post…for which we can all be grateful…
