A Blog Relief Update
Though I never saw any ‘official’ indication, The Truth Laid Bear is now calling this Hurricane Katrina Blog Relief Weekend. Therefore, I’ll keep this shorter post up top through day’s end Monday, and the Red Cross Banner, as well. Please scroll below for new posts. My original post is here; thanks once again to the anonymous $100 donor who came from this blog, to the others who gave, and to those who will continue to give through this Labor Day weekend…
UPDATE 9/2 9:36 a.m: The Truth Laid Bear has the scoop on why and when this became Blog Relief Weekend up now, along with all kinds of additional information, so please check it out…also, Blue State Republican has the latest on the Arkansas relief efforts…
UPDATE 9/2 10:31 p.m.: Many thanks to my mom, who donated through the Decision ’08 link (thanks Mom!), and to Clint, I can only say…wow, that is so incredibly great…your generosity will come back to you a hundred-fold…unbelievable…I have to say it again, you guys are truly the greatest…and once again, give it up to N. Z. Bear for his efforts; currently, the contributions he is tracking have gone over $530,000…

I’ve done the monetary contribution part, but both my wife and myself would like to donate our time in the relief effort. We’re pretty far away (Orange County, California) but given the enormity of the relief effort, there must be SOMETHING we can volunteer for. Does anybody know of any operations taking place over in this neck of the woods?
Sean, I did a little searching, and could only find links asking for monetary donations. If I come across anything else I will let you know…but a monetary donation is still a great thing, so good on you…
