Last Call For Blog Relief

As the three-day Labor Weekend winds down, so does Blog Relief Weekend, a success by any measure. At last count, N. Z. Bear’s contribution list is approaching a cool million dollars. Once again, thank you for contributing, and if you haven’t yet, this would be a great excuse.

Though I’ll be taking down the Red Cross banner tomorrow, and I will no longer be moving blog relief posts to the top, naturally our hearts and minds will be on Katrina’s victims for some time yet to come. We’ll go on with our lives, of course, but for the refugees, that will be oh so incredibly difficult to do. Whether you are a religious person or an atheist, you can’t help but be reminded how slender a thread our lives hang by, and how great a gift each day’s rising sun is. Time is the great healer, and for the survivors of Katrina, my wish is that time will quickly bring them some relief from the horrors they had to face.
