Troubled Times at the WSJ

To say I am a fan of the Wall Street Journal would be an understatement. Like most people who have never held a copy in their hands, I assumed it was a boring, stock-quote filled snoozer, much like the business pages of most American dailies. When I was introduced to it in college, I suddenly couldn’t wait until we had it delivered each day at the much-appreciated steep student discount.

The WSJ is hurting, though, like most newspapers, and has been suffering defections by high-up staff as it nears the launch of the Weekend Journal. The vastly underappreciated New York magazine takes a lengthy look here. Well worth your time if you’re burned out on Katrina-related politics and waiting for that big UT-OSU matchup tonight (go Longhorns!)…
