More 2008 Tidbits
FOTB (Friend of this Blog) Sean P alerts me, via RealClearPolitics, to this poll of Pennsylvanians on, among other things, their 2008 preferences. Hillary at 40% for the Dems probably won’t surprise you, but Rudy G. at 41% for the Republicans just might!…
BlueStateRepublican provides a link to another good showing by Mike Huckabee, a man who, while never mentioned as a frontrunner, also never seems to fail to impress. Good on ya, Mike…

I also found it interesting that Condi Rice polled so poorly when she was listed. It’s curious how McCain consistently does fairly well in real-world polls and horribly among the hardcore political junkies in the blogosphere. If it’s equally true that Condi does mcuh better among the blogs than she does with real-world voters, that makes me think Rudy is in good shape; he’s the only guy who seems to do well both among bloggers and the general public.
Good point…
Actually, no real surprise to me. PA has a long history of voting for what we used to call “Rockefeller Republicans.” Rick Santorum is actually an anomaly.
I have no doubt Rudy will poll better in Pennsylvania than he will in the South. Still, without McCain in the mix, Rudy’s numbers would probably have been over 50-55% — and McCain will have to drop out if he doesn’t win New Hampshire outright like he did in 2000. If Rudy can corrall even close to those number in Pennsylvania, he should be able to do well enough in the South to secure the nomination.
