Mark, belated congrats on hitting the 250K milestone. I know that I appreciate a well-run, informative blog where I can spout my half-baked opinions without getting mercilessly flamed, and I’m sure your other readers feel the same.

Pity we don’t actually rule the world. If we did, it would probably be a much more civil and better behaved place…

Congratulations Mark on your excellent blog.

As for the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, President Bush seems to be following the old baseball adage, “keep throwing it till they hit it.” The Roberts nomination worked out so well because Democrats needed weeks to decide why they thought he was obviously wrong for the job. So why not try the same strategy again? If those voting against Harriet Miers can’t articulate soon a convincing reason why she shouldn’t be on the Supreme Court they’ve lost the battle again.
