Senator For Life?

That’s the scenario being put forward by Don Surber, who says the decision of Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito not to challenge West Virginia’s Robert Byrd ensures six more years of the cantankerous ‘conscience of the Senate’. Byrd, who has been ensconsed in the Senate since, seemingly, the Civil War, is running scared, says Surber, and in his case, that seems to be a pretty decent survival strategy…

    Sad to say, but its pretty appropriate that the Senator who is most successful at shoveling unnecessary pork projects towards his state, and then forcing the residents of other states to pay for it, would be deemed its conscience.
