Hillary Crosses Bono
Ryan James is all over this one…everyone made a big stink recently about some supposed U2 fundraiser for Rick Santorum that turned out to be bogus…nevertheless, Hillary is planning on going against the express wishes of the U2 frontman and turning the sold-out Washington show into a fundraiser in her skybox.
Ryan suggests contacting the Senator’s office and telling her to go ahead with the fundraiser…for either the ONE campaign, or a donation to DATA…I can’t think of any better way to react. Kudos, Ryan, I’m planning to do just that. Here’s the webform to contact Hillary’s office…

UPDATE 10:05 p.m.: Here is the text of the email I sent to Senator Clinton:
Senator Clinton, I’m a conservative Republican who nevertheless has come to admire the way you have conducted yourself in office. I’m also a U2 fan. I have read that you are planning to have a rundraiser in a luxury box during U2’s sold out stop in Washington. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate, rather than raising funds for yourself, to honor Bono’s commitment to the poor nations of Africa by donating all funds to the ONE Campaign or the DATA organization? You would earn some good press, and you’d be doing the right thing. Think about it…
I’ll be seeing U2 Monday night. Woo hoo! They’ve been my favorite band for over 20 years, but I’ve never seen them live until now. I am ridiculously keyed up now.
As for the topic? Uh, if anyone wants to come up to my seat and stick money in my palms, I’ll take it.
