Now is the time to marshall the troops and ride down the dems... (still would like to see a Rove demotion*, to bring in some fresh charismatic blood to speak for the party) *=his job is to advise the President and he still can, but it would also be wise to make an appearance of demotion/or shifting of responsiblities. C Boyden Gray!( as I have previously championed) would be the perfect guy to speak on alito's behalf-and the GOP at large. Moving Rove publicly, but in reality changing his role very little, is a fair trade, and a good defensive move. They can act as if it never happened, but leak some rumors :) and let the press assume it did, and the WH is too embarrassed to discuss it.
