Top Ten Kos Kidz Reactions to the Alito Nomination
Without further ado:
Number 10 – John H.: Women should take this for the slap in the face it is – Bush was pressed to appoint a woman to replace O’Connor and the only one he could find was the president of his fan club? Does he really mean to tell us that the only woman worth considering was his ‘office wife’?How did half the country vote for this f***ing clown?
Number 9 – Smallbottle: Dems shouldn’t even permit hearings until an independent counsel or commission is appointed to uncover all the treason and fraud at the White House. Period.
Number 8 – Ludi: Effing Freepers are over there screaming FIGHT FIGHT! All they want is the nuclear option to go down.
Why do freepers hate America?
Number 7 – metal prophet: …I think that it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Rove or one of his disciples could start a deceptive ad campaign. They’ll form a fake group with a liberal sounding name and make a bunch of anti-Alioto ads that make use of Italian-American stereotypes. Then, the outrage will break out and Bush will loudly denounce “liberal bigotry” or somesuch and will totally change the subject from Alioto’s views to the fake controversy. In the end, the fake ads will be revealed to be by some GOP front group, but that conviently won’t be revealed until after Alioto is confirmed.
Number 6 – KOTCrum: This is where REAL CARING EVERYDAY people can call, e-mail, snail mail, and visit Democratic senators, especially those on the Jud. Comm. and tell them in no uncertain terms that they MUST FIGHT this nominee as he DOES NOT represent the best interests of the nation.
This is a wild-eyed stab by a legally and morally corrupt administration and party. In the movies this would be at the end of the big barroom brawl scene where the good guy has soundly kicked the a** of the bad guy, only to have the bad guy pull out a hidden knife and come at the hero from behind.
Alert Dems in the right offices that they ought to join the 61% of people who think Bush and his ideas suck.
Number 5 – Darksyde888: Never underestimate “The Rove”…Bush’s Brain is capable of pulling off a stunt like this. Harriet Miers took it for the team (GOP extremists), just so Bush can stuff this chump down our throats. They think we’re pushovers, boy will they be surprised… Alito will get a worse beating in the press than Miers.
Number 4 – Central Scrutinizer: Bush had to install an extreme righty because he’s in so much trouble now he really needs his base to be behind him. You see having a White House full of suspected felons actually makes Bush’s decision easier to pick a caveman to sit on the Supreme Court. You see these people don’t care if you set a covert CIA agent and all of her contacts to be aborted after birth as long as you appoint a judge who won’t let that happen before birth.Number 3 – Wizard Kitten: This can and should be a defining moment for the Democratic Party. This forces them to stand up and make a distinction- at least that is what I’m hoping for.
If they don’t- kiss the Party goodbye. Women will leave in droves. Progressives will leave in droves. Those of us hanging on to the tiny bit of hope we had that the Dems will put up a fight- we will go now if they don’t.
They must fight this. Or they are toast.
This is it, kids. This is the battle that will define both parties for some time to come.
Let’s do it. I’m tired of f***ing around with these people. If we go down, let’s go down swinging.
Number 2 – thewin: This is the last chance the democratic party has…at least in my eyes for myself. I hate these neocon republicans, but if democrats let this vote pass, they are worse than the republicans.
They let the headlines “Abortion Illegal” and “Corporations not Liable for actions” be able to come true for the next 30 or so years. This will set america back in progression more than anything ever.
The republicans have the Executive and Legislative branch and I’ll be god d***ed if I’ll support a party that lets them pack our last solution for rational thought and reason in this country.
I don’t give a rats a** if the republicans use the nuclear option, what’s the point of having the Fillibuster if you aren’t going to use it. At least go down fighting for the values of america against these nationalists.
And now, Number 1 – DisNoir36: It’s pretty sad that Bush has to cater so much to his base, the christian taliban.
Nice guys, those Kos Kidz…

Confirm Judge Alito
(Logo courtesy of Blogs for Bush)
Ok, our prediction didn’t come to pass. But we’re very happy with Judge Alito and strongly support President Bush on the nomination.
ABCNews reports:
“Judge Alito is one of the most accomplished…
“They’ll form a fake group with a liberal sounding name and make a bunch of anti-Alioto ads that make use of Italian-American stereotypes.”
Does it count as anti-Italian bigotry that this poster threw in an extra vowel to the guy’s name, assuming all Italian names have too many vowels?
In all seriousness, what’s most striking about this is all the demands are for the Democrats to oppose Alito. Well, fine and dandy, and in the end, that’ll get you 44 votes (or 45 if you count Jeffords). How about presenting some ideas that might get some moderate Republicans on your side too, rather than just castigating anyone on the right as evil? There seems to be far more interest in venting and losing than in strategizing and winning.
Now to some extent, that’s what you get when you create an echo chamber where points seem to be rewarded for who can be the most furious and cynically bitter. Presumably the Democrats in power are thing a bit more strategically. But given the greater influence Kos & Co. has on the party, I have to wonder.
“The republicans have the Executive and Legislative branch and I’ll be god d***ed if I’ll support a party that lets them pack our last solution for rational thought and reason in this country.”
Translation:
“The Republicans have the two elected branches of gov’t, and I’ll be godd***ed if I’ll support a party that let’s them pack our last solution to override all those idiot voters in this country.”
“I’ll be god d***ed”
Now that’s a new one. What will those wacky Kos Kidz come up with next?

And the Blood Vessels are Bursting All Over!
“…As the Liberals’ blood vessels burst, they realize that they cannot defeat Mr. Alito in a fair vote, and must resort to the non-Constitutional option of a minority keeping the majority from doing what they were elected to do. That is a mistake that could, and would, have Nuclear consequences. And, contrary to the conclusions of the Daily Kos crowd, we would not pay a political price by ensuring that a group of pouting petulant children could not thwart the Constitution of the United States of America.”
I hate these neocon republicans
They hate me? I think I’m going to go cry. This is like the reviews of Malkin’s book. What a bunch of looney toons. Too bad it’s not only the internet crazies, I know people that talk like this all the time.
I love it “I hate those people so much. they are hateful people.” the irony is lost on them.
Thank You, Mr. President
I always thought Sam Alito would be a good pick but as I read through everything written about him, the more LOVE his pick. And the icing on the cake is the reax on the Left. Their heads are exploding!!!…
If we go down, let’s go down swinging.
Go down? Swinging? Wow, they really are the party of Clinton.
Liberals Hopping Mad Over Alito
Heh. The Kos kids are working themselves into a frenzy over this nomination. Check it out:
5 catholics on the supreme court – so are we looking at rulings like homosexual sex is illegal unless it is between a priest and an altar boy?
Alito Shuffle
Some reaction from the left: Chuck Schumer:It is sad that the President felt he had to pick a nominee likely to divide America instead of choosing a nominee in the mold of Sandra Day O’Connor, who would unify us. This controversial nominee, who w…
yes, by all means, lets have you go down swinging. no group has ever understood that they are finished, until they have truly been beaten.
Why is it that people on the left use foul language all the time. Typical of school yard fights and todays DNC, if you don’t have a plan or a clue or an idea or a proposal or anything of help or the least bit constructive just yell and scream as long and loud as possible. get a life it’s over folks
Bwaaaaaaaaa!!!! What’s wrong in the liberal world today? afraid that most of America is conservative? Time to wake up and smell the coffee-We won, we control the senate, the house, and soon the judiciary, your last best chance to force your immoral views on America. Guess what-(gasp) Alito is a Catholic! Come on out against us with all you got- your STILL GONNA LOSE!!!! It’s another great day in CONSERVATIVE AMERICA!
Outstanding pick!! For a guy the left regards as almost clinically retarded, W has a pretty impressive learning curve.
The Kos Kidz are always entertaining, but DU is just as funny. One of the commenters there suggested, in his thoughtful way: “Destroy him, destroy his family now. We must take him down, through whatever means.” And, of course, Senator Schumer has already suggested that Alito would undo the legacy of Rosa Parks. I hope Senator Clinton is sending him a muffin basket or something, for making her look both moderate and classy….
It is tragic that Kos Kids and their like-minded peers can only spew venom and blatant threats rather than rational, civil discourse. How can the historical function of negotiated politics progress when extreme anger replaces pragmatism? The answer is: it cannot.
If I could ever find a “post a reply” button on that website, I’d love to post something like: “Just remember. The winner is the one who gets to write the history books. LOSERS!”, but I get hives if I hang around that place more than a minute or two.
My favorite? This bit of moonbattery by Metal Profit:
Given his paranoia, I wouldn’t be surprised if he thought this post came straight from Rove’s office:
[...] Update: Top Ten Kos Kidz Reactions to the Alito Nomination [...]
And the Blood Vessels are Bursting All Over!
As the Liberals’ blood vessels burst, they realize that they cannot defeat Mr. Alito in a fair vote, and must resort to the non-Constitutional option of a minority keeping the majority from doing what they were elected to do. That is a mistake that …
What happened to all of the leftist glee from the Miers “fiasco”? These people don’t stay happy long.
I love the irony of whacking the Left with its own blunt instrument – outlier extrapolation. By highlighting the craziest posts of these puerile morons, we can impugn the whole lot.
Just kidding….I know they are speaking for most of the Left – or at least what’s left of the Left.
As Dick “Dirtbag” Durbin said…If you can’t beat them, indict them!
They will fight this nominee just as they are fight the Republican party now through the judiciary. So we will be seeing ads about how all these Republicans are being indicted…See they are the evil rich that we have been telling you about. Only a liberal sucker believe’s that crap!
The problem is only stupid Americans believe what they have to say. Just what the elitist Democrats want…keep them stupid and give them a few handouts and we can do whatever we want!
Liberalism is the cancer that is killing America.
Once more, we see in all its glory the utter bankruptcy of the left in America. They have no plans, they have no opinions, they have no goals – just destroy, destroy, fight, destroy.
We must work hard to see that these psychos never control this country ever again. I don’t care if it means marching on the White House to keep any liberal idiot from taking control.
These liberals are too frightening for words.
Before all you lefties, loose it, it might be nice if you read up on this man. His credentials are impecable. He has more experience in constitutional law than any nominee in the last 70 years; Far more than Bader Ginsburg, and she got 90 % support in the Senate during the Clinton admiistration. She was an ACLU lawyer, but she had, I guess enough credentials. So why wouldn’t the Republicans put forth a conservative.. If a democrat would have won, someone left of Michael Moore would have been nominated and if qualified he would have passed. You guys need to grow up and read the constitution.. But I guess Karl Marx is more up your alley. BRUCE KING
He should’ve nominated Ann Coulter. Hey, they want a woman, right?
Sorry to say ladies, but there is more to the US Consitution than abortion issues. Maybe you should move to China.. It seems they take that issue to a whole nw plateau, from a NARAL perspective, that is.. Over there, there is no right to life movement , even after you are born.
I think there is plenty of fault on both sides of this issue, not just the moonbats. The base GOP was picking for a brutal fight on this nomination, and now it seems you will get your wish. I suspect Bush may also have nominated Miers in one last attempt to bury the partisanship, by nominating someone unknown to both sides but who he felt was qualified. Since the right will not permit that, the fight is all that is left if the court is to be fully staffed.
The Dems reaction while angry, is very predictable. That’s the problem, everyone’s reaction has become too predictable and partisan, and I am not learning much from either side on how to intelligently debate this.
I disagree with the Dems tactics on the filibuster, this house rule is not spelled out in the Constitution, so they do not have some God-given right to prolong the process as the minority. The Koz kids and DU I am sure are seeing the ways to first filibuster and then to defeat the motion to exclude judicial nominees from the filibuster, aka the nuclear or Constitutional option.
I did enjoy when we use to refer to ourselves as the United States of America, and know that our name did not belie what was really happening in the country. The 51-48 or so partisan split continues from the election, where actually the other side has good reason to believe it has grown stronger since the election.
Many of you have relished this fight to be, as the fight was predicted before anyone’s name was nominated. Those folks are about to get their wish, congratulations (not!). It does not seem possible to seek accord and agreement in this country any more on these issues, so many are to blame for this development.
“At least go down fighting for the values of america against these nationalists.” “[N]ationalists” as in “American nationalists”? How does that work? Or has Number 2 – thewin decided that this country isn’t the source and center of all evil in the world?
Brave words from people who side at every turn with the enemies of the United States.
[...] Mark Coffey at Decision ‘08 has the top 10 Krazy Kos Kidz reaction to the nomination. [...]
Geez, can we take a deep breath? The announcement was made a few hours ago, and it’s a feeding frenzy — on both sides.

There’s nothing that builds confidence like an occasional dose of the Kos Kidz. As Mark Steyn says, the Left is “all tactics and no strategy.” This is going to be fun.
WK: What you are seeing is a battle between ideologies. Liberals and Conservatives will NEVER agree on the points that divide them. This court was brought far to the left because of the Democratic grip on congress for many years following WWII. Now, with Republican control of Congress, they are trying to bring it back more towards the Right where (they believe) more of the country stands. I agree with that – the majority of the people in this country are against partial-birth abortions, are against gay marriage, and are for keepng “Under God” in our pledge. If the court kept going in the direction it was heading, those things would not stand very long. The country is more conservative than liberals – or the liberal media – want you to know. The polls confirm this. So, why should Republicans throw away a chance to get the courts more in line with America just to try to “get along better”? Don’t be an idealist in this sense – the Democrats certainly would not do this, so we should not expect Republicans to do it either.
“where actually the other side has good reason to believe it has grown stronger since the election.”
Well, we’ll get a good index of that tomorrow, but I have to say I don’t see much evidence for this claim right now. Remember, it’s not enough for the other guy to stumble – you have to be able to pick yourself up off the floor.
“Let’s do it. I’m tired of f***ing around with these people. If we go down, let’s go down swinging.”
Bwaa haa haa haa!
Oh, like this writer has soooooo much power! They _still_ don’t get it – they are not going down, they are down, period! That’s it, period! They are powerless and weak – weak of mind, weak of logic and weak in political power. It is attitudes like writer of the above quote that turn people off. As for the nuclear option, bring it on! All the left has is shadow threats, nothing of substance.
I personally like #2.
Sound like someone called a bluff, and the river card is on the way.
“Let’s do it. I’m tired of f***ing around with these people. If we go down, let’s go down swinging.”
By which I assume that Wizard Kitten wants to start some kind of political violence program against the Conservative right.
Hell, I’m all for that. It pretty much gives me license to do… well, what I’ve been wanting to do for years. By all means: “go down swinging”, Wizard Kitten.
Please.
Great Post. I still call myself a liberal (most of my fellow liberals don’t believe me) I have another list of choice quotes with reactions from Americablog on my website:

Obviously, Rove is also writing the extreme comments on Kos to make the Dems look bad.

Culture of corruption ? Really ?
I first want to say that anyone who impedes a grand jury investigation ought to hang for it, that is if they are actually found guilty in a court of law. An indictment is not proof of guilt, it is merely a one-sided finding of probable cause for a court action.
Then there were the liberal attacks, that there was a “culture of corruption” in the white house. Even with the so called “Katrina response” which I disagree with incidentally, that it was Bushes fault and the Libby indictment. That does not constitute a culture of corruption.
We dont have to go back very far to find a culture of corruption in the White House.
A website called The Progressive Review , a liberal online publication has this to say about the Clinton-Gore White House, ” To this day, the Review remains one of the few publications in America that recognizes that the Clinton story is not about sex but about mob politics — the intertwining of corrupt politicians with drug trafficking, other organized crime, rogue intelligence operations, and international espionage.”
This site is a gold mine of information on all the “whatever- gates” that happend thanks to Clinton.

The problem is, kiddies, you folk of the KOS are in the MINORITY….For too long the MAJORITY has waffled and waivered, but now you will eat the stuff you produced with your viperous stabs at a lack-of-reality.
The solution is folks….accept the majority and their ideals, OR, offer something much more real and alternative than “I hate Bush”….your “Swan Song”…..

“About bloody time. Machine Gun Sam!”
“Petition hell. I’ve got more tricks up my sleeve. Not only am I going to post on Free Republic twice as much but I’m going to crank the volume on my car stereo and roll down the windows whenever a conservative talk show is on. I’m going nuclear and there is no stopping me now. I am out-of-control.”

“Any word on this nomination from John (the traitor) McCain yet?”
“McCain was on Imus this morning and said something like he didn’t have any objections to Alito, but he would wait till the hearings to make up his mind.
What a jerk!”

You’ve got to read a little closer…
“The republicans have the Executive and Legislative branch and I’ll be god d***ed if I’ll support a party that lets them pack our last solution for rational thought and reason in this country.”
The courts are their last solution for those pesky little abilities that too many people have these days…rational thought and reason. I read dKos for laughs, and I usually can’t take it for very long, but every once in a while you can find a real gem like that.
SCOTUS pick drives crazy men even crazier
The bloggers at Decision 08 point out some truely disgusting quotes from the unhinged liberals at the lunatic watering hole, Daily Kos:
Now, now, don’t you feel just a little silly? Bush nominates a conservative, and the Democrats don’t roll over. You go to fringe sites to find the most outrageous quotes so you can compete to see who is the most outraged. So the left is “utterly bankrupt,” “only stupid Americans believe what they have to say,” they are “puerile morons,” etc.
Need it be said: there are puerile morons on both sides of the divide — the left doesn’t have a monopoly here. For every Micheal Moore there is an Ann Coulter. There will always be plenty of hyper-ventilators on both sides to scream at each other across a chasm. My guess is that the vitriol in these posts directed towards Kos readers is no greater or lesser than the vitriol from them directed towards you. And what have either of you accomplished?
I know nothing about Alito. He could be the greatest thing since Velveeta. Wouldn’t it be nice to at least hear what he has to say in the hearings before this turns into a WWF Smackdown? (Same for the left: if you come out swinging, you lose any credibility for being anything other than dogmatic and partisan).
Here’s my guess: the last few months — Katrina, Miers, Libby, US dead in Iraq hits the 2,000 mark, the Senate’s 90-8 finger in Bush’s eye (when they insisted that the Army define and prohibit torture) — haven’t been pleasant. A collective bummer for those who remain Bush partisans (I saw a reference today to a USA Today poll where 57% of Americans described the Bush presidency as a “disaster”). So it must feel good to have some collective chest-thumping and find something some idiot said on a blog so you can all beat up on this strawman. It’s great to change the subject when all the other subjects are so depressing. But here’s the problem: seven more American soldiers died in Iraq today. The deficit increased by about one billion dollars today. Etc., etc. Faced with this, doesn’t piling on some bloggers from the left seem a little silly?
peter, this is all in fun…it’s good sport, you see…Bush does something reliably conservative, and we hear about the ‘christian taliban’. Here’s the deal, the way I see it. Kos averages 800,000+ visitors a day nowadays, and it’s based on crap like what I highlighted here. No other blog has close to his visibility. I took the ten examples above from a single thread at his site, and I didn’t even bother to try to update it with even more outrageous examples.
You’re right, it’s like taking candy from a baby…and that’s quite the point. Don’t you think a blog with nearly 1 million daily visitors, one that Democratic congressmen frequently post at, is representative of at least a good chunk of what passes for ‘progressive’ thought?
But if these examples are too obscure for you, I’ll direct you to the words of Chuck Schumer, Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, and the Democratic talking points unearthed by Chris Matthews today…a little Google searching and you can find them all – and they’re no better than the garbage I extracted from the cesspool called The Daily Kos…
