Can I, just for awhile, savor the thought that this trained economist is having to face the fact that fewer people read his work when they actually have to, you know, pay for it? Please, can I? Just this once.
A beautiful point, too many steves. Professor Krugman, meet the Law of Diminishing Returns. I’m guessing his starts at anything above “free.”
I’m amused that he mentions many people thought he might be Atrios. I guess that means he wishes his columns could include more obscenities to go with his Atrios-like BDS.
One thing that I really think needs repeating is this:
“I get the feeling that we’re living in a really good political satire.
Yeah, or a really tawdry political novel. If you tried to make this stuff up, nobody would dare – they’d say that it’s ridiculous.”
It’s a good point. I’m hardly in bed with Krugman and the Kossacks, but it’s becoming ever clearer that the people in charge are either stupid or evil. It’s hard to see how the world can fall into this much disrepair unless the folks running the show either have no idea what’s happening, or they just don’t care. I’m leaning on “stupid”, but that may only be because I don’t really want to consider the alternative.
