Final BCS Standings Make It Official
It will be USC versus Texas for the National Title in the Rose Bowl, of course, but now the other matchups are fixed: Georgia versus West Virginia in the Sugar Bowl (being played in Atlanta since Katrina caused such damage at the Super Dome), Penn State versus Florida State in the Orange Bowl, and Ohio State versus Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
Of course, my very own Red Raiders, who finished 15th in the BCS rankings, will face number 13 Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.
Here are the other bowls announced today:
* Capital One (1/2): Auburn vs. Wisconsin
* Gator (1/2): Louisville vs. Virginia Tech
* Outback (1/2): Iowa vs. Florida
* Houston (12/31): Iowa State vs. TCU
* Liberty (12/31): Fresno State vs. Tulsa
* Peach (12/30): Miami vs. LSU
* Independence (12/30): South Carolina vs. Missouri
* Sun (12/30): UCLA vs. Northwestern
* Holiday (12/29): Oregon vs. Oklahoma
* Alamo (12/28): Michigan vs. Nebraska
* Champs Sports (12/27): Clemson vs. Colorado
* Insight (12/27): Arizona State vs. Rutgers
* Motor City (12/26): Akron vs. Memphis
* Hawaii (12/23): Central Florida vs. Nevada
* Fort Worth (12/23): Houston vs. Kansas
* Las Vegas (12/22): BYU vs. California
* New Orleans (12/20): Arkansas State vs. Southern Miss

*sigh* We get Nebraska in the Alamo Bowl. Boo. At least we can have some revenge for the 1997 travesty, though, I guess.
Yeah, that’s kind of a bummer (but hey, the venue’s nice, at least)…how about that Miami / LSU matchup, though – that could be pretty sweet…
