Could Kerry Win, Even Today?

Maybe, maybe not – Tom Bevan takes a look at the latest Time poll, and makes the following interesting observation:

Though President Bush scores his lowest approval rating ever (41%) in the Time poll and gets at or near his worst rankings on nearly every issue, when respondents were asked who they would vote for in a do-over of the 2004 election, Bush loses to Kerry by only a single point (48-47). This probably says more about what a miserable a candidate Kerry was than about the problems of the Democratic party as a whole. Nevertheless it should disturb Democrats that with Bush’s numbers so far in the tank there isn’t a greater sense of “buyer’s remorse” among the public.

It was a well-known fact among the election-watching public that a little Kerry goes a LOOOOONG way; I suspect his increased exposure during a do-ever would result in a Bush election, once again. The Kerry campaign was perhaps the worst in memory – and Gore was little better. Hillary will not make the same mistakes, and that’s what makes her a dangerous opponent…

The President’s numbers are rebounding according to the latest Rammussen poll. This probably has been caused by the expanding economy and his political counter-offensive. I have a hard time believing Kerry has any similar surge capacity. As the more he speaks the less we know about his positions, we can depend on his losing any halfway fair contest.

I see the MSM is still recounting last year’s election. Typical Demon-rat thinking, keep recounting until your candidate wins or in this case, keep taking polls until your candidate wins. The MSM can now pronounce Kerry the true winner of the 2004 election. Cann’t these people just move-on.
