Top Ten Kos Kidz Reactions to Today’s Elections In Iraq

Okay, folks, let’s jump right in:

Number Ten.
…[I]t’s precisely what BushCo
is trying to do. Distract us from the violence and the
deaths, of both U.S. and coalition forces and the Iraqi people, by staging
these elections and giving us these photo ops.

Number Nine:
I won’t believe the numbers anyway.  After the last election took 3 weeks
to finalise the votes, I didn’t trust those results either.

Earlier this week, on Air America, I heard about a truck of ballots being intercepted on
it’s [sic] way from Iran.  With Iran & the U.S. both wanting a desired
outcome, I don’t think it matters what the Iraqis want.  Either Iran or the U.S. is going to win this election, votes be damned.

Number Eight:
I want to know if Diebold had machines set up to count the votes.

Number Seven:
The paradigm I operate under is that the forces Bush has
marshaled to allow him to use my money to terrorize a foreign population and
get American soldiers killed and maimed are the exact same ones which are
staging the election and will oversee not only the results but the actions of
the elected.

Number Six:
If the Iraqis are successful in their democratic endeavor,
perhaps they could send consultants to Ohio and Florida.

Number
Five
:
more iraqis are voting than americans voted in the last pres
election

stupid f***ing
americans

good for the
iraqis

maybe america needs a good and bloody civil war to remember what democracy is about

Number
Four
:
I don’t believe a f***ing word of what the New York Times
tells me about election day in Iraq.

Remember
last time? The anecdotes of people walking miles to get to the polls? Reports
of unexpectedly high Sunni turnout? The dawn of democracy?

Remember the
Repugs pointing to those reports and waving purple fingers at us?

Lies and
propaganda, in the mold of Judith Miller.

Number Three:
This is just theater. All completely meaningless, and woe
to the suckers who buy into this BS.

These elections are nothing more than a prop for the bush thugs.  No election
that was initiated, designed, engineered, and carried out by a foreign
occupation power has any legitimacy, here or elsewhere.  None.  Period.

If Uzbekistan invaded the US, toppled the government, installed its hand-picked puppets, then ran through the motions of several rounds of voting, would the regime that resulted have any legitimacy whatsoever?  Of course not.  It would be laughed at.

This so-called election is utter bullsh**, nothing more than photo ops and PR props.

Number Two:
Has any reporter asked anyone in the administration [sic] why the f*** Iraq has had even 1 election if the country can’t even employ 60% of the people?! If 50 people are dying a day. Can’t [sic] one a**hole just ask the f***ing question?!?

Number One:
I had a realization today while driving to work listening to all the talking heads blather on about Iraqis voting.

I. DON’T.
GIVE. A. SH**. ABOUT. THIS.

Was it worth half a trillion of our (children’s) wealth and 2140 of our young people? 30,000 to 100,000 civilian "collateral damage"?

F NO.

NOTE: Those of you who think I am shooting fish in a barrel with this occasional feature: you’re right. Those who think I use it to tar all liberals: you’re wrong. There is one particular species known as the ‘progressive’ that I am taking aim at.

I really don’t understand this kind of perpetual, preening cynicism. It’s naivete tarted up as worldliness. I mean, maybe you indulge in it when you’re 18 and you don’t know anything, so you pretend you know everything. But you know, there’s a time to put away childish things…

  • Indeed…can’t even wait until the ballots are counted to start harping…

  • Shannon

Well, we don’t know how old those people are making those assertions. I was pretty stupid in my 20′s, grew up in my 30′s and am in 40′s now.

One thing is for sure. Once they have settled on some fixed idea on how things were or are, they are really good at continuing the spin to support it.

  • David

Have to log into Democrat Underware tonight and see what the progressive libs are screaming about now that these elections have taken place. This should be a riot

  • Gwedd

    Comrades,
I especially like #6. It just never seems to register with them that all of the areas in Florida and Ohio where alledged “irregularities” occured were run by Democrats….. Oh well.
I am still waiting for the moonbats and the tinfoil-hat brigades to start tying this all in with Freemasons. It seems that would be their next logical target:)

    Respects,
    Gwedd

Are you serious or is this just satire? You need some serious mental help. Please do bring on a civil war, the Red states would kick the Blue states butt hands down! Remember were the white racist nut cakes with all the guns, DUDE!

  • Brian

Wow, if the KOS kids are that upset with democracy in Iraq…imagine how pissed they are about Kosovo? Seven years later, boots still on the ground and STILL no exit strategy in sight! Can we impeach that liar Clinton again?

  • Bill

Typical response – “I don’t like the message therefore I don’t believe the message. Filth Filth Foul.” I’m not seriously worried about these people because they’re not serious people. The guy thinking on his way to work was probably on his way to his career in lawn maintenence or food service. Not that dishwashers don’t have a right to their opinions but lets face, they’re not opinion leaders. Nobody asks their waiter what they think about global politics. We’ve always had crazies and we always will. The internet just makes it easier to hear what the nut-jobs are actually saying. “Woe to the suckers..”? Who talks like that?

Why am I listening to Wesley Clark on FOX News being a pessimistic S.O.B. about the election in Iraq???
    Seriously, …

It appears as though the Iraqi elections were a stunning success:

2nd to Shannon’s motion. The Kos Kids are functional idiots, regardless of their respective IQ’s, education, or ages. I was one of them once in another life – went temporarily insane following my own Viet Nam experience (nothing heavy at all – was not a trigger-pulling grunt). Most of the Kos Kids comments are tame compared to what I had to say about that war and Nixon at the time. The sainted Ronald Reagan, bless his heart, restored my sanity.

Much of what the KK’s say can be chalked up to the stupidity of youth. Some of them will grow out of it.

  • dmac

I don’t think those reactions are out of place at all on that site. Once (a long time ago) I attempted to get into a discussion with a few of the commenters, and was immediately flamed and then banned. Quite a little circle
j-rk they’ve got going on over there.

  • The Holy Spirit’s message on The Christian Prophet blog today, teaching as it always does, goes into the feelings Iraqi voters are feeling as they begin to take personal responsibility for their lives.

  • docdave

Typical moonbat response: Whaaaa, I want the Iraqi war to fail and now you’ve spoiled it by having this successful election!! Whaaaa!!!

  • megapotamus

Why is every Progressive I meet a raging reactionary? A puzzlement.

  • Tim

As a mostly-liberal (I want a wall on the mexican border), I appreciate your distinction between the “progressives” and unreasonable kids, and those of us who are more reasonable.

It is a great day in Iraq.

  • Travis

Number five reflects a good number of Moonbats I’ve been hearing. My question however is this: If there’s a civil war in America, how do the Moonbats expect to win? Where are they going to get their army or even their guns? They will however have a good supply of white flags…and they’re going to need them in short order.

  • Tim, it’s an important distinction, and we try not to paint with too broad a brush around here (not always successfully, but we do try)…

  • Prof James D Havicus

I have pioneered totally wireless media pods in my community, but – have you considered the complications of bounce-back noise inherent in the technology. There are a number of 3rd party devices that utilize xxMPp technology so one can model and extrapolate further bounce-back and beam-through noise so you can better position components or configure living arrangements. Or you could drop the UWB from the chipsets entirely and jump straight ahead to UMMx. Fewer bounce-backs and beam-throughs but higher radiation levels which may prove unsafe over longer periods of time.

  • I agree with Dennis. The extreme cynicism being displayed by certain liberals where the Iraqi elections are concerned, borders on sophomoric. Are there no responsible liberals (besides Christopher Hitchens) who will stand up and acknowledge that something wonderful is happening in Iraq? Why is hating Bush and everything he has ever done more important than supporting democracy in a land where once there was none? Has your average liberal given up on democracy in order to dwell within a cave of rank nihilism wherein Iraqis voting is dismissed with the upturn of a nose and a wave of the hand? Sad. This is exactly why I had to give up pretending to be a Lefty when 9/11 happened. The general liberal reaction to 9/11 and everything that has followed since has shown me that leftists no longer have a positive vision for the future. They have become hate machines.

  • Ummm…ok, Professor…thanks for the update on the chipsets…

are the dems suduced by the devil? lets see: support tookie, condem shivo. aginst death penalty for the worst murderers(1000 killed since 1979), support abortion (30 million killed since 1979).support terrorists rights, dont support victums rights with tougher laws.the support dictators like sadam and fidel but hate elected american officials if thier not thier party.THIS IS THE PARTY OF DEATH!! THEY MAKE ME PHISICALLY ILL.

  • Cindy

So sad to see the these dems choking on their own vomit.

  • DailyKos is home to the most pessimistic people on the planet. I don’t like George W. Bush that much but I can get past my dislike for the guy and applaud the Iraqis and their move towards freedom and democracy.

  • mike

What no comments on my party of death remarks? Why it suprises u guys that libs make fun of freedom is beyond me. I stoped assuming liberals have good intentions but are just misguided a long time ago. These people defend terrorists, murderers, dictators, child rapists, and all godless commies. They use the deaths of our troops as propaganda to help thier antiwar stance.THEY ARE THE BLAME AMERICA 1ST CROWD.They belive we are the foucus of evil in the world, so anything bad for america make them feel good. This goes pessimism or ignorance these people are sick!!

  • mike

last sentence was supposed to read : this goes beyond pessimism or ignorance these people are sick!!

  • John Blake

Would a little humility, a tiny dose of generous spirit, be that amiss with Kos? One thinks back on our own Revolution, indeed our Civil War, with a cringing anxiety– would I myself have stood forth in righteous and good cause? We see the Iraqi people, crushed by dictatorship, mangled by cynical indifference, dismembered by vicious sectarian dogmas: Arise, seek the light, learn to live again! Of course it will take decades, generations, but liberation is a seminal development. We admire your stand against terrorism, and more importantly against the swamps wherein these reptiles dwell… only persist in Democracy’s endeavor, value others as yourselves, you cannot regress to “previous conditions of servitude”. This is terribly exciting, wonderful! C’mon, Kos: Have one on me, for auld lang sang! Strike a blow for Liberty! THis is not partisanship, politics-by-any-other-name.
Hooray for our brave Forces! Hurrah for Victory over tyranny and oppression! Hip, hip: HURRAY! [Cool, it, will ya? But I just can't.] God Bless America– God bless us, every one.

  • Muffin the cat

Dumber than tree bark. Please do not refer to these people as “liberals”. They are not even close. Nor are they “progressives”. They are ultra left wing dictatorial extremely closed minded totalitarian fascists thugs.

  • I once believed that “progressives” were well-intentioned idiots. I’m ready to admit to being half-wrong about that.

  • The Ace

The moron who posted #3 would be utterly shocked to learn about how Japanese democracy came about.

Continued proof their political opinions are formed by ignorance.

  • Viking

They call themselves Progressive Liberals. Until the age of blog and Airhead America, they were mostly radio listening loons listening to local stations like KPFK Pacifica Radio here in LA. But with the blog’s feedback and opinion development they have developed a more unifying voice. Add to that the exclusivity noted above (getting banned if you disagree) and you get the echo chamber feeding itself.

I run into these loon daily here in Los Angeles. In the tv world, it’s almost a given that you are a liberal, and some are of this kind at KOS. In fact, finding out that you are a conservative is met with polite smiles and a sudden rememberance that ‘I’ve got a meeting to go to’.

To them it’s not just a viewpoint. They believe they are morally right…on SS, on taxes, on everything. So if you oppose them on say SS reform, you don’t care about old people and you are immoral.

Don’t agree with schools and support school vouchers? You hate children and are immoral.

This goes on. And as long as the John Kerry’s and Tom Dachles of the political world catger to these loons for their vote, they will lose most of the time.

  • richard mcenroe

    This is gold.

EVERYONE should be able to see what these maggots are saying when they think no one is listening…

“maybe america needs a good and bloody civil war to remember what democracy is about” Number Five

Maybe it does. Light the fuse already Turdly, and then see what happens.

  • benR

Regarding the idea that only conservatives have guns: It’s not true at all. I work in the Seattle area, and LOTS of Liberals up here own guns. They may give different reasons such as distrust of the government, for target shooting, fear of the stupid masses, etc. but they certainly have guns.

  • Kids. They’ll grow out of it.

I find myself almost agreeing with the sentiments of Number 5.

Number 4 starts off so well…
… and ends making me feel sorry for Judith Miller — she’s discredited with both sides. We’ll always remember her for her role in the Plame affair, and the “Progressives” will remember her for something to do with the run-up to the War.

Someone already nailed Number 3 on the Japan example.

Number 2 seems fairly innumerate — by my quick back-of-the-envelope calculation about 10,000 people die every day in America. Until we conquer aging, that’s going to continue to be true. I guess we should just give up on ever holding another election.

And finally, hard to believe that Number 1 paid or will pay a significant part of that half trillion, or knows anyone who’s served in the military.

Last thought… Number 7 is John Kerry, isn’t he??

  • Clint–I fear it gets worse as they age.

What always amazes me is how resolutely miserable this particular group are. Here 10 million + people have bravely embraced democracy and they’re…bitter and enraged? They would be somewhat less wretched if Saddam Hussein were still in power, just as long as it made George Bush look bad.

Sure, it’s comical in a train wreck sort of way, but what a way to live!

  • bill

I saw a picture of the Save Tookie crowd at San Quentin and they’re the same dysfunctional, delusional rabble as post on KOS and DU.About five minutes there is all any semi-literate person with a grain of common sense could stand.
What a joke..a civil war.Groucho Marx and the army of the Republic of Freedonia had a better chance than these fleabags.I wish we could trade all of them for a few brave Iraqi Kurds. What a wonderful day for freedom!Deal with it leftist skunks!

  • F.O.A.D., Moonbats!

You know, I can understand perfectly what Crazy Howie Dean meant when he said he hated everything Republicans stand for. Because if you take that and add a healthy dose of disgust and derision, that’s what I think about the Left. GROW THE HELL…

  • Rick

I’m not sure people are being fair with #5. The first thing I thought when I read it is that a conservative comment had been included by mistake. It certainly appears that the proportional voter turnout in the Iraqi elections will far exceed what we have come to expect in the U.S. or Canada. I also think that people who are closer to civil war, and who so recently lived under tyranny, are much less likely to take deomcracy for granted than jaded Kos-Kids and the legions of rock-the-voters who stayed home last election to play Xbox. Those who laugh derisively at the pleasure and pride the Iraqis take in their purple fingers are too cynical to be reasoned with.

  • Sylvia Medford

This is my first foray in Kosdom. All I have to say is those
frat guys at certain Universities are at it again. Tinfoil hats? Nah! This is the best satire going. Bring it on. I haven’t laughed so hard in years. What a great joke! They want us to think that they are serious. Where did they get those great middle school attitudes? What next arm-pit noises. Oh you kids, attempting to make us think that you are adults. Good try.

  • Don

I hate to say I am an old man, but when I read the list I am reminded that I am old enough to remember when liberals were liberal. When being liberal meant having and open mind. When being liberal meant wanting freedom for other people.

I miss the good old days.

  • Aaron

    Rick, I concur about #5.

The hardships the Iraqis have endured have given them a great appreciation for the rights they exercised today (or yesterday, by now). I wish that more Americans had the same appreciation for those same rights.

  • Dave Hughes

You poor pathetic bastard. You have my sympathy.

  • [...] Ok…now to my actual post. Decision ‘08 has a great run down of the reactions many progressives had to the elections in Iraq. It’s a toss up as to whether their responses are funny because they are so fanatic or frightening that people are so unreasonably angry, but either way this is definitely a must read. [...]
