Obama Takes the Easy Way Out
How disappointing that Barack Obama, who seemed such a breath of fresh air initially, is turning into just another politician. I couldn’t put the case against his lame support of Hillary’s ‘plantation’ remark any better than Tom Bevan at the RCP blog:
If I seem a bit overly disappointed by Obama’s naked partisanship, it’s only because way back when – long before most liberals had even heard of Obama – I expressed very high hopes for his future as a new type of leader for the African-American community. It’s looking more and more like those hopes were unfounded.

Probably he read the recent RCP summary of the Democratic candidates, and realized that he’s in a good spot to get the VP nomination… if he sucks up to Hillary and other potential nominees.
