Off to the Movies…

I’m late to the party on this one, but I’m heading out to see the Chronicles of Narnia…seems like a good candidate for the big-screen treatment (and I’m seeing it with digital projection, though it was not shot digitally – we’ll see how much of a difference that makes)…

My thoughts later…

  • Make sure you get some Mr. Pibb and Red Vines. “Crazy delcious!”

    Narnia’s no good, although I’m glad it’s kicking Brokeback Mountain’s a**.

Of course it’s actually a kids movie so I don’t know why I’m even having an opinion here

Amos, you’re right, it’s very much a kid’s movie. I got some enjoyment from watching the film itself, but most of the fun came from turning my head slightly and watching the excitement and joy in my daughter’s face.

  • Just got back…I knew it was a kid’s film, but I thought I would like it anyway, and I did – to a point…it was missing the little extra ‘oomph’ that would have pushed it into the four-star category, but it was a solid three…

The acting was, for the most part, well up to the task, and the talking animals were well-executed…but I found some of the action sequences to be a little ‘fakey’ – which is kind of unforgivable in a movie with a $180 million production budget…

Also, the swordplay was totally lame…

On the positive side, little Lucy was great, and the story remains a ripping good yarn, though a little too compressed in this case…with Lewis, the details are the delight…

Mark, Glad you liked the movie. Remember what happened when you thought the NY NY Roller Coaster was a kiddie ride!

  • You had to remind me!…
