He’s got an excellent point.
Perhaps one which both explains former Vice President Al Gore’s recent speech and Josh Marshall’s obsession with a minor hunting accident?
I really admire Mickey Kaus. I’m sure he must get tiresome to the left, always preaching doom, but he has a much a better understanding of why the left keeps losing these debates, without indulging in the usual “It’s all Karl Rove’s fault” excuses or whining about those irksome voters. Heck, this was the guy warning Democrats off of John Kerry back before anyone had heard of Howard Dean.
I think his biggest strength, one which any pundit should strive for, is realizing that he has come to his concluions about ideology because he thinks they’re best for society, not because he’s a better person than his opponents.
