Decision ’08 Overlooked In 2006 Pulitzers

It’s as much a shock for you, I’m sure, as for me; nevertheless, congrats to Nicholas Kristof (you can find a generous sampling of his commentary, momentarily freed from the pit of TimesSelect, here), this year’s biggest winner, the WaPo (with 4), and all you other people who are getting the credit that rightfully belongs to me…

I would have voted for you but nobody asked my opinion.

  • How do they pick these things, anyway? By asking the Post and Times editorial boards what they think? How else do you explain Robin Givhan?

  • Thanks, Muffin…but I don’t think cats are eligible to vote (and it’s an outrage!) – nor, for that matter, are elephants, even if they are very academic elephants…

But I am over the age of 18. Remember I turn 20 in September. I can register, can’t I? The US Constitution says so. 26th Amendment. I was born in this country. Aren’t I protected by the 14th amendment, Equal Protection under the Law? What about the 19th giving women the right to vote?

Interesting to note that the Times received a Pulitzer for the journalism which revealed the NSA warrantless wiretaps — although they were vilified by Bush and others, obviously the Pulitzer people felt differently –
