The New York Times’ One Trick Pony

On an editorial page that is overburdened with mediocrity, it takes a special talent to stand out as egregiously repetitious. By striking the same note continuously month after wearying month, however, one Times columnist merits special attention. I’d have guessed Frank Rich, who seems to me to have been writing a variation on the same ‘grand’ theme for years now…I would have been wrong

    Mark, admit it: you were counting the days until he returned from his sabbatical…

    Aside from finding Frank Rich to be repetitive, is there anything in Sunday’s column (or any column) which is factually incorrect? Or just plain wrong?

  • I wouldn’t know…I’m not about to pay for TimesSelect. I’ll see if I can find the free bootlegged copy and answer further…

    Or you could buy a Sunday Times and get the crossword puzzle and the sports section too — including what my wife refers to as the “women’s sports section” (the wedding section) –
