Draw Your Own Conclusions
In the last week, Israel has seen three of its soldiers kidnapped and several murdered in invasions of its sovereign territory by radical Islamists. Israel is one of our strongest allies, and it has been fighting off attacks on its very existence since its inception. No other nation on earth is the subject of so many routine threats to wipe it off the planet, and I think we all know the ugly history of anti-Semitism, both Christian and Muslim.
Why, then, are so many on the left reacting with ignorant cheerleading for the terrorists of Hezbollah, or feigned indifference (hat tip: The Real Ugly American), or even ridiculous conspiracy theories to explain how it’s really Israel’s fault?
For the latter, I give you the loathsome Noam Chomsky:
Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don’t know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that’s well known; the first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.
What’s this? A mysterious Israeli kidnapping of two citizens in Gaza – and we don’t even know their names? Preposterous, vile nonsense. Chomsky says, as if it’s a truism, “You don’t know the names of victims.”
Here are three names of victims for Chomsky to meditate on:
Corporal Gilad Shalit, 19, abducted from an Israeli defense post near the Gaza border by Palestinian militants
Eldad Regev, 26, and Ehud Goldwasser, 31, seized in a border raid by Hezbollah
You see, Mr. Chomsky, in the real word, we know the names of victims all too well…

Comrades,
Leftists are known for their near-God-like ability to ignore facts when they interfere with a good storyline.
Can’t find the facts to support your conclusions? A good leftist will simply make them up. If supporting documentation cannot be produced, well, then, those evil CIA/NSA/Black Ops fellows must have destroyed them to hide the truth! Yeah, that’s it! It’s all a Rovian plot, I tell you!
Need to shift the blame away from the obvious suspects? Need to get the MSM on your side? Don’t have any facts, just a hunch? Well, that’s all right too! Simply blame the jooooos… easy to do, and lot’s of your fellow lefties will already be onboard.
Losing steam with your argument? Well then, that’s EASY to fix… call a press conference. Keep repeating the same storylines over and over, photoshop some images and hand them out “liberally”… tell the same story over and over and over again. Make up a website. Or three. Or a hundred. Make up names to associate with the websites, and cross-post your storline all day and night. Do the same with your comments section, and edit out all the “troublemakers”.
Eventually, your lies will become the truth, because so many will have read them on so many “different” websites.
It’s easy enough to do. Just ask Chomsky, or Ward Churchill, or Babs, or the KosKids. Hell… with all those folks running around reinventing the truth, even ghost-writing text books and then citing that work in their own publications as supporting documentation, it’s a wonder there’s enough tinfoil left for ordinary folks to cook with.
Respects,
Gwedd
[...] Notice the outrageous claim that kidnappings of soldiers from sovereign terroritory are not casus belli, this from a man who has been trumpeting the ‘right’ of Hamas to retaliate because of some mythical kidnapping of two people without names that no one seems to be able to confirm even exist, with the exception of the omniscient Chomsky.
