The Smartest Move Lieberman Has Made Yet?

Tossing the loathsome Jane Hamsher out on her backside, no contest. Toss her out once for me, Joe! That oughta add at least two points to his approval ratings…

In fact, Joe could schedule a series of appearances where he tosses Hamsher out, in a modern day parallel to the Lincoln-Douglas debates…hell, I’D drive to Connecticut to see that…

  • I understand you don’t like Jane Hamsher, and that’s fine, but you’re saying you support ejecting constituents from public speaking events based on whether or not they hold certain opinions?

  • Constituents, no – a constituent, singular. Jane Hamsher to be exact….

    When someone calls another person “Rape Gurney Joe,” what on earth kind of reception do you suppose she merits? Maybe sitting down to tea with some lace doilies and scones, perhaps? She’s also NOT A CONSTITUENT – she lives in Hollywood, for crying out loud!

  • The other guy lives in Connecticut, dmac. Nice, though.

    And since when were conservatives all about protecting people’s right to not be offended?

  • I can only imagine that Jan Hamsher and “Spazeboy” or whatever he was called were going to be a nuisance. You think they were going to give Senator Lieberman a warm reception?

  • Just to be clear, I would also settle for seeing Jane thrown out of:

    (a) a concert;
    (b) a movie; or
    (c) just about anything or anywhere that wouldn’t cause her physical harm (I’m not a sicko, after all)…

  • Probably not. I’d be pretty naive to think otherwise.

    It makes me think back to a John Kerry rally I attended in 2004, in Bethlehem, PA. At one point a loud Bush supporter stood up and started yelling questions. People yelled back at him, and Kerry silenced them to listen to the guy’s concerns, and he answered him calmly and rationally. Seems to me the way to handle it.

  • Oh, you know I’m just having a little fun at Jane’s expense…what the hell, let her go to all the Lieberman rallies – just as long as Joe wins in November, whether as a Democrat or Independent…

    So you’re not going to ask Jane to go with you to see the Stones?

  • Only if I can be assured she will be thrown out…

    Interesting factoid: Jane Hampsher was the Producer of Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers, as well as several other films in the mid-90s (source: IMDb). If memory serves, that film was denounced for its level of violent content (probably by Liebermann himself at some point). I know the movie containes multiple graphic murder scenes, but does it contain any scenes that (how should I put this) would make Hampsher’s “Rape Gurney Joe” nickname seem a bit hypocritical?
