When Is It Okay For A Progressive To Own Halliburton Stock?

When he’s running against Joe Lieberman, silly:

Defending himself against attack ads from U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, Ned Lamont admitted he does hold some stock in Halliburton.”I’ve got a mutual fund that I have no control of and it has a little bit of Halliburton stock,” Lamont told the Connecticut Post editorial board Monday.

Well, after all, we don’t always keep up with our mutual fund holdings…it was a mutual fund, right, Ned? Oops:

Lamont said earlier this month that the stock was part of a mutual fund, but his campaign later corrected the statement and said it was part of a managed stock account.

Hmmm…have you ever owned shares in a stock (not a trust, not a mutual fund, but a stock) that you didn’t know about? Why, you’d almost think Lamont was…lying

But hey, he’s not Joe Lieberman, that’s all that matters, right? Who gives a damn if he doesn’t know the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas? It’s not like he’s trying to be a Senator, or anything…

Oh, wait…
