Ned Lamont: If A Dishonest Liar Is What You Want…

…(and there are plenty already in Washington), then Ned’s your man. Tom Maguire details with painstaking, loving craftsmanship the absurdly large amount of evidence that Ned Lamont’s campaign has been of the blogs, by the blogs, and for the blogs, yet we get gems like this, from Lamont’s campaign spokeswoman, as Lamont tries to escape the blackface affair:

Asked if it was fair to say the Lamont campaign has actively reached out to bloggers, she said, “No.”

Preposterous; Lamont’s association with the Nutroots® is as strong as the Pope’s with Catholicism.

The following is from a press release by the Lieberman campaign, and I’m printing it again for no other reason than to see Jane Hamsher get her nose rubbed in it even further:

FACT: Hamsher has helped raise over $58,000 for Lamont.

FACT: Hamsher moved to CT specifically to advocate for Lamont.

“I know for myself that win or lose, making the choice to come here and be a part of this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I know it’s something I’m going to remember for the rest of my life.

FACT: Hamsher travels with Lamont’s campaign on an almost daily basis. She brags on her blog about how she drove Lamont and his campaign manager to his appearance on the Colbert report earlier this week.

“Key segments of the Lamont campaign migrated to my car for most of the afternoon and evening. I wish it was my sparkling wit and superb political acumen that earned me a spot on the road trip with campaign manager Tom Swan and ad empresario Bill Hillsman as we went to Manhattan to see Ned appear on the Stephen Colbert show, but mostly it was a willingness to shut up and drive while they went about the business of managing campaign chaos in its final days.”

FACT: Hamsher was on the set of Lamont’s commercial shoot.

“We also shot Ned’s first video blog this morning on the set of his new Hillsman commercial”

FACT: Hamsher has been actively recruiting volunteers for the Lamont campaign.

“Also, I’m putting the call out for a volunteer to work with Tim Tagaris on the Lamont campaign.” Tim is swamped and really, really needs someone who is either from the area or has their own place to stay here who wants to work like a fool from now until August 8. Tim is great, he’s in charge of Internet Communications and beween maintaining the Lamont blog and coordinating the campaign’s online efforts he’s now doing the job of about five people.

Ned Lamont also claims he has no connection to the bloggers who are advocating for his campaign. When confronted with the news about Hamsher’s disgusting photo, he brushed past reporters saying, “I don’t know anything about the blogs.”

Again, that is another lie meant to duck responsibility for the vicious tactics of his “people-powered” campaign.

FACT: Kos was in his first television ad.

FACT: Lamont has a diary at Daily Kos – Lamont even has excerpts of his Kos diary on the official campaign blog.

FACT: Lamont said he is “with the netroots every step of the way.” In an interview to celebrate Blogosphere Day, he also said, “I will be there any way I can, because you guys were there for me at the beginning.”

There – I had to search for it, but I did find something to smile about this Friday after all…

I remember the good old days when there was not even a chance in hell Lamont would win…

Is that another good thought for the day, even though it’s a memory? :)

  • Hey, I’m the first to admit I got it wrong…first time in over twenty years, but I was wrong this once!…

Okay, jeez, I’m familiar with all that but still I can’t get behind whacking Lamont quite so hard. The simple fact seems to be that this guy is a lightweight all the way ’round. He obviously has never seriously followed a campaign much less participated and brings a schoolboy’s politics out into the real world. The result is much like bringing a BigWheel out onto the interstate. It seems plain Lamont will win the primary where turnout will be customarily miniscule and suffer defeat in the general when the adults are awake. Joe made exactly the right decision to run regardless in the general and, frankly, the trouncing Lamont will receive (and NEVER see coming) will give the est Dems not a chance but a mandate to dump the nutters. Sistah Soldjiah; coast to coastah.

I don’t know about all that mega. It seems the right/center has continually underestimated Lamont’s draw (Mark included). I don’t know why he isn’t being embraced by the right as well so they can prove that he is a lightweight (as you claim) by the amount of crap that comes out of his office. He seems to have the same sort of draw as Kucinich (except of course he’d be 1 of 100 in the senate rather than 1 of 8 million in the house)…

Mark: :) I just still think it’s funny about the ® marks. You’ve been proud of that for so long. Just think, if Lamont wins, you’ll get to type those for at least another 6 years…

Hmmm… aren’t they supposed to wait until they are IN office before they start lying their skanky butts off?

  • [...] I’ll go you one better, Lanny – he ought not to lie about his prominent association with one of the biggest haters, and he ought to publicly disassociate himself from her. Should Lamont win today, he should realize that this issue is not going away… [...]
