The Lancet Study: Meet The Editor
I hope each and every person who has stood up for the ‘scientific’ results of the ludicrous Lancet study will view the following piece of video of its editor, Dr. Richard Horton, and tell me that this is the demeanor of a man who is interested in a dispassionate presentation of statistical truth. I haven’t seen such a blatant display of demagaugery since the last time I saw George Galloway in action.
Res ipsa loquitur (with the tip of the hat to Tigerhawk)…

At least it seems that this ludicrous Lancet ‘study’ is not getting much respect – even among many liberals, it is clear that these claims are just over the top.
Id would like to see the crowd during that colorful speach. It sounds like six college stoners. Bush and Blair BOO BOO..The war is lost YAY…
Talk about raving moonbat. Look at the spittle.
Now that he drug Afghanistan into the equation, the claim that we would rather kill children than build hospitals boogles the mind.
And the Taliban were dedicated to building hospitals? For what? So that they could treat all the Sharia inflicted injuries. I’d like to show that’ scientist’ that video of the 8 year old boy who had his right arm crushed by a car, as punishment for stealing a piece of bread.
Speaking of women rights, last I heard, the Talis were against educating women and if women can only be seen by female doctors . . . I’d like to see a Lancet study on excess death for Afghan women.
In any case, I love it when these moonbats expose themselves in all their glory for the world to see.
Isn’t discounting the study based on Horton’s views like discounting the election results because Diebold is a Bush supporter? There are more substantive refutations elsewhere, even on this blog.
I’m not saying Horton’s views refute the study, but I do find them very illuminating…by the way, ‘Diebold’ is a corporation and as such, cannot be a ‘supporter’ of Bush. That’s putting human characteristics on a legal entity…
[...] I have it on good authority (the best- Tim Blair!) that, using methodologies pioneered by the Lancet team, the U.S. population just rolled over the 957 trillion mark today. Contacted for a quote, Lancet editor Dr. Richard Horton had this to say: “Tony Blair and George Bush laughed when I claimed to be the fifth Beatle. SHAME….ON….THEIR….LIES! Jack Straw – where’s he now? Wichita? – Margaret Thatcher – who’s she? The expansionist Anglo-American imperialist fascistic neocon initiative has spawned 300 million little Satans, each clamoring from birth for the death of Iraqi and Afghan civilians, according to the same ‘officials’ who would have you believe 2 civilian aircraft could bring down the very symbols of American commerce. We now know that there has been a massive coverup, paralleled in history only by the conspiracy to hide Lindsay Lohan’s acting talent. Who is the voice of justice? Where are the hospitals? And where’s my cheeseburger?” [...]
