More On Hillary-Obama

Yesterday I asked the question, “If Barack, whither Hillary?”

The consensus in these parts was that Hillary will run, regardless, because of her (a) clout, (b) age, and (c) ambition.  (It’s a consensus I share).

Not everyone agrees, though:

Iowa Democrats say there’s a growing feeling in the key 2008 state that Hillary Rodham Clinton is going to take a pass on the presidency if rising rival Barack Obama jumps in.

“She’s been quiet and, you know, there’s a question that we all hear is that she may not get in this if Barack Obama gets in,” Iowa Interim Democratic Party Chairman Rob Tully said.

Hillary’s staff denies the rumors, of course:

“As we have said before, Sen. Clinton’s decision-making is not dependent on anyone else’s plans,” said her spokesman, Howard Wolfson.

It’s too soon yet to tell, but time passes quickly, and Hillary faces the same problem Rudy G. does – she can’t wait too late, or donors will start getting antsy and will commit to another candidate…

I’m on board with the consensus here at Decision ‘08 as to Hillary running. As to this Iowa character’s opinion – Senator Clinton has never struck me as one who would shy away from a challenge or a fight.

  • Definitely. Hillary will run. As you said, she can’t wait too late and there’s a lot that could happen in two years that could sink Obama’s boat. If she stays out and he messes something up, what will we have, a Gore-Edwards-Biden race?

I don’t think Hillary Clinton will have aaaaaaany problem raising money. I think she could declare a month before the primaries and still end up with more money than the other candidates.

Osama Obama had better watch his back. Several people that crossed the Klington’s are now feeding the fish.

Re: Scrapiron use of “Osama Obama”…
