Every democratic senator except Lieberman (if he counts) is already on the record as being against the surge. It not like they're going to somehow be able to say later that they supported the surge. Please, that's ridiculous. The people who did not want to go on the record are the Republicans in the Senate. They want to be able to claim--disingenously--that they were only voting to continue debate. Can you really not see this?
