Libby Verdict At Noon Eastern

Just got the breaking news alert…my prediction is, following in the footsteps of the Minute Man, that Libby will be convicted on at least one count.

More as soon as it is known…

UPDATE 11:06 a.m.: Guilty on all five four of five counts…counts 1,2,4,5…

UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: Quick impressions – big victory for Fitzgerald, crushing blow for Cheney, Libby, and the White House – more analysis and links later…

UPDATE 11:23 a.m.: Here’s a rundown from MSNBC:

Following are the individual charges and their corresponding verdicts:

  • Obstruction of Justice: GUILTY
  • False statements to FBI investigators (about Russert conversation): GUILTY
  • False statement to FBI investigators (about Cooper conversation): NOT GUILTY
  • Perjury to the Grand Jury (about Tim Russert conversation): GUILTY
  • Perjury to the Grand Jury (about the Matt Cooper conversation): GUILTY

UPDATE 11:39 a.m.: Washington Post coverage here, New York Times here…Libby will be sentenced in June, and faces a possible two-decade sentence, but is expected to draw 1 1/2 – 3 years as a first offender…of course, the case will be appealed, and ultimately a pardon could be forthcoming…
