The spammers that I'm talking about are the ones who flooded the Pajamas poll with hundreds of votes from the same IP address and then asked me to accept at face value the proposition that a guy who polls at 1% or less was outgunning Giuliani. Are you frustrated because he actually follows his oath of office(To uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States of America)? I don't mean for this to be "spam", but I'm just curious as to how a man could be so hated when he is a true statesman(not typical politician) that has a consistent(not flip-floppy) record of voting on issues based on the boundaries set by the Constitution. I don't think McCain is dead, but when Thompson's numbers started shooting up, I started to wonder. Maybe there's some life in the ol' boy yet. Good point, Mark, about Thompson neutralizing Gingrich. The Gingrich support always struck me as nothing more than a placeholder; I think even the most rabid Newt supporter knows he has no chance. At least Thompson seems much more viable, and we can get on with the debate over the candidates without wasting too much time on a guy who, brilliant though he may be, is not going to be the nominee. Really, I'd say McCain is about five or six points behind Rudy right now, and essentially tied in the early primary and caucus states. I think the hardcore pro-Iraq, pro-surge, anti-Democrat stance he's taking now is reversing his trend lines. Also I think the Media turning on him is making GOPers look at him as a Republican again. Of course, all of this can change, but right now he's looking competitive again.
