Been On Vacation…
…so posting was on hiatus, too. I had a couple of comped nights at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, and Caesar’s seldom offers me free nights, so it was an offer I couldn’t refuse, all apologies to the late Don Corleone. A word of advice – if you have an opportunity to stay at Caesar’s, ask for the Augustus Tower, if available. Very, very nice – huge rooms, with floor to ceiling views of the Strip, and very modern and tasteful decor (especially by Vegas standards).
Even more remarkable – for about the fifth time in over 30 trips, I came out ahead! The first night (this will mean nothing to the non-gamblers and everything to the slot players) I was dealt 4 Aces with the kicker on the bottom row of a 5-play draw poker machine at Harrah’s…and I’m quite sure I’ll never hit anything like that again…
Oh, well, suffice to say, when you go to Vegas, you expect to lose, if you’re smart, so coming out ahead is always a very nice surprise…blogging will be back to normal soon…

The only time I ever made money at a casino was in Reno, when I hit a lucky number in roulette and then walked right out of the casino.
I think that is the best way to avoid the scenario where you arrive in Nevada in a $5000 car and leave in a $50,000 bus.
