Mississippi Goes To Obama
No surprise at all there…but CNN is also reporting that Obama officially got more delegates out of Texas than Clinton:
Obama will also finish first in the Texas Democratic caucuses, which were held last week.
He will get more delegates out of the state than rival Sen. Hillary Clinton, who won the state’s primary.
Now don’t hold your breath for any corrections from the major news outlets but…
That means OBAMA won Texas, not Clinton. How so?
Simple. The party nominee is determined by delegates, not by the popular vote. Much as Al Gore ‘winning’ the popular vote had no effect in the 2000 presidential election, as that’s not the method used to select presidents, Hillary’s ‘win’ in Texas has turned into an illusion, as that’s not how the Democratic party nominee is selected, either.
But for Hillary, she got what she wanted – a revitalized campaign based on two big ‘wins’ in crucial battleground states.
Could the Democratic race possibly be a bigger fiasco? On the other hand, it’s three months until June…

[...] ‘08 glances at Mississippi but is focusing on the rear view mirror and Texas’ delegate [...]
As expected! Obama is on a roll and not even the bias pollsters (Rasmussen &co) and faulty maps on the web can change that. Interesting how most of the polls err to favour Clinton – every time to end with egg in the face! Texas is another example. All the cunning tactics of Hillary winning the BIG states – another lie – look at the counts! We are so ready for real change.
Should there be one of these
at the end of that comment?
I don’t know about any emoticon, but Peter should freshen his panty shield.
If Obama becomes president, some people are going to be very disappointed when they realize that double talking your way through an election only to govern the same as your predecessor isnt actually change.
Big question: Did anyone notice that there was a primary in Mississippi? Or was it completely drowned out in the news by that other, more titillating political story?
Another Peter on this site? Maybe I should change to Pete.
try ‘too many peters’.
Good idea. Let’s see how often the other Peter shows up. I don’t want Mark’s readership to think that I use panty shields or, for that matter, that they would need freshening.
peter–My apologies. I did, indeed, think that was you.
No problemo — after all, we’re both named after the same Saint –
Saint Benedict?…
Nah, monasticism has never been my thing. I was exposed to too much rock and roll at an early age. After seeing the Dead, the Airplane, the Stones, Dylan, and three of the Beatles, somehow the monastic life didn’t appeal to me.
