So, How Did It Go?

Well, let’s be honest up front.  No one is ever going to say John McCain is a particularly great stump speaker.

The speech was nothing like the barn burner delivered last night…nor was it as good as Obama’s acceptance speech.

It was not particularly well-written, and it was light on agenda, and had WAY too many ‘applause line’ pauses that disrupted the flow.

Of course, there was the problem of the interruptions by the idiot parade, as well.

Though it did get better (how could it not?) when McCain told his oft-told but always moving story of life as a POW and his discovery of something greater than himself, I have to say that I give this speech a C.

By comparison, Obama got an A, Biden a C+, and Palin an A+.

In other words, yes, I think it was the weakest of the four…any convention bounce will probably be residual from Palin’s miracle…but it is what is.  It’s done, but it was a lost opportunity…

  • That bit of horse**** didn’t even last a news cycle.

I’m sure glad the Democrats didn’t do something reckless and stupid!

  • If that’s true, Cameron should be fired.

  • Actually, Cameron should’ve been fired in 2004. It doesn’t appear that he’s done anything wrong this time, or that the story is false in any way.

  • The DNC denial doesn’t pass the “smell test” to me. And, btw, it wasn’t FoxNews that started this story. I’m pretty sure it appeared in the Denver Post, first.

    1. The flags were in garbage bags, and “in and around dumpsters”.
    2. Hard to believe they would be returned to the manufacturer after being opened and put in garbage bags.
    3. They were “stolen”? Hmmm…seems like this would’ve amounted to a not insignificant amount of money. Why didn’t they report this “theft” to the police?

No, I’m going to call B.S. on the DNC’s response. I won’t say that it’s impossible that it went down the way they said, but it sure doesn’t seem very likely.

Yep, it did appear in the Denver Post first.
