The DNC denial doesn’t pass the “smell test” to me. And, btw, it wasn’t FoxNews that started this story. I’m pretty sure it appeared in the Denver Post, first.

1. The flags were in garbage bags, and “in and around dumpsters”.
2. Hard to believe they would be returned to the manufacturer after being opened and put in garbage bags.
3. They were “stolen”? Hmmm…seems like this would’ve amounted to a not insignificant amount of money. Why didn’t they report this “theft” to the police?

No, I’m going to call B.S. on the DNC’s response. I won’t say that it’s impossible that it went down the way they said, but it sure doesn’t seem very likely.

Yep, it did appear in the Denver Post first.

Actually, Cameron should’ve been fired in 2004. It doesn’t appear that he’s done anything wrong this time, or that the story is false in any way.

The handicapped child is not part of a plan of attack. The mother who would force all other pregnant women to bear a handicapped child — whether they want to or not — is.

I don’t think any prospective parent goes into an amniocentesis without wondering what they would do if the results indicated Down’s syndrome. Apparently 90% decide not to bring a child into the world who will be permanently damaged. I know we would have. For Sarah Palin to force her choice on every couple in the same situation is a very legitimate campaign issue.

Regarding your post #44, let me suggest a better way for you to rephrase your attack on Palin:

Giving birth to a kid with Down syndrome is a highly personal matter that is never a proper subject for partisan political attacks.

You don’t make a handicapped child a part of your plan of attack, Peter. That’s just crazy. Your stance on abortion should not allow you to make such a highly personalized attack, and I think any right-thinking person on either side of the fence would recoil from these tactics…

But my thoughts on the subject are more than covered now – if you think that’s a profitable line of attack, I sure hope more Democrats agree with you…

The Republicans had the White House the last eight years, the House for six of eight, and the Senate for six of eight with the remaining two years basically a split. If that doesn’t show a dominance over the Democrats, I’m not sure what does.

Do I wish the Republican had been lighter on the attacks and heavier on substance? Yes, I do…I did not like the mocking tone, for example, or all the references to Obama’s work as a community organizer. It was not the convention I would have chosen, so I won’t support it…but I keep hearing how the Republicans have been in power the last eight years – am I wrong, or is this a Democratic Congress?…
