Not The Way You Want To Start Your Season

That title could be about my Texas Tech Red Raiders, who have struggled against weak opposition, despite their #12 ranking in both polls (but hey, at least they’re 2-0!), but it’s not…

Instead, it’s about Tom Brady.  New England fans were holding their breath after he walked off the field during the Pats’ opening weekend win…but the news is not good.  He’s done for the year, if this story is true…

I’ve been worried all winter about the post Superbowl “hangover” and the fact that they might not be as good this year, but we certainly didn’t expect this. You could have heard a pin drop in Gillette yesterday when Brady went down. The worst part about being at the game was not knowing. The guy next to me finally called a friend at home to find out what the talking heads were saying.
What a sad, sad day – I know a lot of people “hate” the Pats, but I think it is always terrible to see such a talented player miss the season due to injury.

Oh boy, this isn’t good. I guess we’ll get to see the quality and caliber of Cassell this year. He has been a backup since high school so there is so little to know and expect. That 51-yarder to Moss was a clutch throw. This season certainly will be interesting.

For those of you that saw the hit: dirty play or just football? I doubt Pollard was trying to hurt Brady, but lunging at his planted leg with his shoulder strikes me as a careless and, yes, dirty play.

  • I don’t watch football on Sundays, so except for not liking to see anyone hurt, i care little about this. Drudge has their flashing light on right now saying he’s done for the season.
