Bono On Sinatra

When you get Sinatra on the brain, it’s hard to shake – I’m about five years into an almost complete immersion in Sinatra’s music (and I’m also catching up on his early films).  Though I sometimes mix it up (you can’t eat pizza every meal), I never stray too far.

Another of my favorites, the Irish superstar Bono, has had Sinatra on the brain for quite some time, too.  It was U2 (well, Bono, really) who introduced Sinatra when he received his Lifetime Achievement Grammy (the appearance where Ol’ Blue Eyes was unceremoniously cut short by the orchestra).  It’s only fitting, then, that Bono chose the Chairman of the Board as the subject of his first guest column for the New York Times.  An auspicious beginning…
